The thing about manifesting is that it can keep you stuck in dreamland if you’re not careful. At the end of the day, it’s about showing up and doing the work. You can visualize all you want, but if you don’t actually put in the effort, nothing’s going to change.

I once watched an interview with Oprah where she talked about how great she is at manifesting and making things come to her. And I couldn’t help but think—of course, she’s Oprah! She’s a billionaire; all she has to do is mention something, and people will make it happen for her. It’s not exactly the same reality the rest of us are living in.

There are a few studies that prove that manifesting brings more harm than good. Our brains can't tell reality from imagination. If you close your eyes and imagine that you are falling from a skyscraper, you'll feel scared even if in reality you are sitting in your favourite armchair at home. So, when we vividly imagine our goal, our brain decides that it has already been achieved and relaxes.

I haven’t read those studies, but I can see how focusing on something negative could create a negative response. Personally, I’ve found that overthinking or dwelling on things just keeps me stuck in either fantasy land or analysis paralysis. It’s only when I take action and make decisions that things start to build momentum. I’m just not really into manifesting. I remember one time a friend told me I needed to manifest more, and I had to really hold back from saying anything!
