There are big consulting firms that do the same, such as McKinsey, Bain, PWC, and many others. My business is much smaller, but the purpose is the same – to help a company (any company, from any industry) find a new way to expand and develop. For instance, I helped numerous companies from many countries re-formulate their visions and strategic goals, re-evaluate and change their business models to become more successful.

It is very important. But many executives believe that strategy is a set of high-level decisions like 'We will enter the Chinese market (or American martek, or Indonesian market), and that only then should we start thinking about customers and their needs. Huge mistake.
